In this role, you’ll report directly to the Senior Manager, Web Development, and work alongside experienced developers in frontend, backend, and WebOps disciplines. You’ll gain hands-on experience with development workflows, deployment processes, modern technologies, and collaborative cross-functional projects. We’re looking for someone enthusiastic about learning and committed to continuous improvement. Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and maintaining features across our WordPress multisite network.
- Contribute to both frontend and backend development tasks with growing independence.
- Learn and follow our established development workflow, including version control, code reviews, and staging practices.
- Collaborate with developers, marketers, and designers to implement site improvements and functionality updates.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across various browsers and devices.
- Participate in team syncs, documentation efforts, and internal demos to share progress and knowledge.
Requirements:
- A foundational understanding of WordPress development, including how themes, plugins, and multisite functionality work.
- Exposure to frontend (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and backend (PHP, MySQL) technologies.
- Familiarity with APIs (REST or GraphQL) and how they’re used to fetch and manipulate data.
- A beginner’s understanding of development tools like Git, task runners, or build tools.
- A strong desire to learn and improve, with openness to feedback and mentorship.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive attitude toward challenges.
- Basic awareness of performance, accessibility, and security principles in web development.
- Clear communication skills in English (written and verbal) for collaboration in a distributed team.
- A portfolio or GitHub repository with school, personal, or open-source projects that showcase your skills and enthusiasm for web development.
